Panasonic showcased their 150 inch plasma at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, trumping their puny 103 inch model from last year. Currently they use this sucker for stadiums as a jumbo tron, but pretty soon you can buy one for your living room.

Today, Mitchell Baker announced plans to step down as Mozilla Corporation (MoCo) CEO, a role that will be turned over to John Lilly, who has previously served as Mozilla COO. Baker and Lilly have been deftly tag-teaming Mozilla operational responsibilities for many months and will still work closely together going forward. Baker, who will continue to serve as Mozilla chairwoman and plans to focus on new initiatives that will serve Mozilla's long-term interests, believes that Lilly is presently best suited for the CEO position.

Remember October's news of Comcast throttling Bit Torrent traffic? The debacle not only created a firestorm of bad press for the nation's largest cable provider but also re-ignited the nationwide debate about Net Neutrality. We had numerous signs that Comcast was inhibiting our use of this legal and legitimate file transfer protocol, but to have the AP catch them red handed was icing on the cake.

I am confirming that Network Solutions steals domain ideas when people check domain availability on the Network Solutions website. They seem to have started the practice of stealing domain ideas on December 16th 2007 according to our Domain History database but I was just made aware of this practice today. I am appalled at the concept of taking people’s domain ideas and registering it before the consumer has the ability to manually register the domain.

The same way light confuses scientists by existing as particles and waves at the same time, information increasingly seems to confuse us. Information is getting cheaper and more expensive at the same time, and it appears that many of us, especially those of us who own or control a great deal of it, no longer understand how to observe or use it.

The initials F-C-C don't usually engender excitement, but at least according to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, it's ground zero for most of the broadcasting, wireless and high-bandwidth landline innovations we'll see in the next couple years. Martin spilled on everything from the 700MHz auction to a rumored DirecTV/Dish network merger. (Seriously.) They covered a lot of stuff, here's the Cliff's Notes
