Premier Aircraft Design (PAD), headed up by Barry Blaisdell, whose experience goes all the way back to FS5, is pleased to announce the release of its latest freeware design for FS2004, the Bombardier CRJ700-ER Regional Jet. This new model is the product of collaboration between Barry and Jean-Pierre Brisard.
Jean-Pierre, who is based in France, has recently joined PAD as a full time member of the team and his expertise in designing large passenger aircraft will complement the team's existing output of general aviation aircraft. Pavel Toman continues to take care of the design of the smaller GA aircraft. The new CRJ700-ER features an authentic panel with fully operational TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) and flight deck with a dynamic virtual cockpit. Other features are opening passenger door with air stair, steerable nose gear, animated thrust reversers, rolling wheels, reflective textures and night lighting. Also included are custom HTML check & ref lists and lots of help in a panel_docs folder. Particular attention has been paid to authentic external and internal detail. The flight model and custom CRJ700 sounds, both designed by Barry, help to make this model as realistic and satisfying as possible.
The PAD team gratefully acknowledge the assistance of Nick Linehan, a serving CRJ700/900 pilot, in the completion of this project. The PAD CRJ700-ER will be offered in three liveries initially, with many more to be added by PAD's master painter, Bob May in the coming weeks. A CRJ900-ER in AWE livery is in the final stages of testing and will also be released soon.
