    Announcing The Tomaflex Calculator

Posted on Monday, October 25 @ 22:02:26 BST by darklord

Other flight sim related news Introducing the all-new Tomaflex Calculator designed to help you to determine takeoff maximums, flex (reduced) thrusts and v-speeds for Airbus and soon Boeing jetliners in Microsoft Flight Simulator. At present, the software supports all PSS A319/320/321, A330-200/300 and A340-200/300. Upon popular demand, Tomaflex will expand to support other popular professional add-ons. Learn more by clicking on Read More.

Tomaflex stands for "Takeoff Maximums and Flex Calculation." It is an independent stand-alone program designed to calculate maximum takeoff weights, flex (reduced) thrusts and v-speeds based on pilot's choice of aircraft-type, payload, fuel, flaps setting, runway length, airport elevation, ambient temperature, barometric pressure and winds. To do this, Tomaflex uses mathematical algorithms that have been experimentally determined through extensive data collection and analyses of takeoff performance under various airport and weather conditions in Microsoft FS2004. Commercial jetliners supported in Tomaflex are individually tested to derive aircraft-specific parameters which are then incorporated into the algorithm. At present, the software supports all PSS A319/320/321, A330-200/300 and A340-200/300. Upon popular demand, Tomaflex will expand to support other popular professional add-ons.

    What deficiencies does Tomaflex resolve?

You never have to sit idle at the gate and contemplate on how much to load your aircraft. You never have to guess how much flex (reduced) thrust to use when you know you can afford to. You never again have to worry about making a safe takeoff roll without over-shooting the runway.

How does Tomaflex help the pilot?

It helps the pilot to determine maximum loads often compromised by airport or weather conditions. It enables the pilot to correctly use flex (reduced) thrust settings offered by many professional add-ons. It outputs parameters that are consistent with the pilot's experience in Microsoft FS2004. It adds purpose and a feel of realism to the pilot's preflight checks of takeoff loads and performance.

What are some benefits using Tomaflex?

The benefits of Tomaflex are far-reaching. Once support for all professional add-on Airbus and Boeing jetliners is established, Tomaflex will handle all your takeoff performance needs regardless of which aircraft you choose to fly. Most importantly, because of its accuracy, Tomaflex heightens the experience of the simulation pilot to a whole new level - where one begins to truly experience that which is predicted by a simple software program.

What are some features offered by Tomaflex?

    • A picturesque user-friendly graphic interface.
    • Accurate calculator based on actual flight tests performed in Microsoft FS2004.
    • Provides real-time output of takeoff parameters as you input.
    • Accommodates individual preferences for unit measurements.
    • Applies soft limits. It will not prevent, but only warn you when aircraft is overloaded.
