The 'Big Stick' arrives at AlphaSim - the mighty 10-engine 1950's-era US bomber is recreated for FS2004 and features some stunning reflective texture work which recreates the unusual aluminium-magnesium skin on this aircraft. The unique extendable gun turrets (3 pairs) are animated, swinging out from behind sliding hatches into a combat-ready position. The twin cavernous bomb bays open up at the touch of a key and the complex undercarriage and door arrangement has been faithfully replicated. Five detailed crew members can be seen manning various stations, authentically clothed in typical SAC garb. A soundset is included with is an authentic representation of the strange low growl of the 6 props mixed with the faint whine of the 4 jets. The cockpit has the usual animations plus a full set of mousable xml gauges. The 2D panel has custom pop-ups for nav, autopilot and throttles as well as gauge night-lighting. The flight model carefully follows the data presented in the real B-36 flight manual.
Repainters can use the source layered PhotoShop files which are provided. The bombardier's position is included in the v-c and some carefully slewing can get you down there for a unique viewpoint. An additional lower-poly model is included for AI use.
