M22 Air Taxi Review and Screetshots

Posted on Wednesday, September 25 @ 21:32:27 BST by ryangeeza

Other flight sim related news MoTIS Virtual Jet Design are becoming one of the big players in the Virtual Jet Design industry now.  They have recently released one of their best designs yet, the MoTIS M22 Air Taxi.  If you're looking for a stylish, light, great flying personal jet with STOL capabilities, you've come to the right place!  It is a single pilot, two seater personal jet aimed for someone who wants style.  The M22 Air Taxi's main advantage is that is can take off and land virtually anywhere and on any terrain!  See what's to offer from MoTIS and their new Jet, the M22 Air Taxi by reading Ryan Barclay's complete review of it, with screenshots by clicking here.

    Engine Starting and preparation:
Before you start the aircraft, you need to get familiar with the cockpit and controls as you would in any aircraft.  You also need to make sure you have closed the 'door' or 'hatch' before starting that powerful jet up! When starting the M22, you need to make sure the parking brakes are firmly on.  This is because the engine has enough power at idle to move the aircraft.  This could be a problem, but think of it as it shows you how much power the aircraft really has!  Once you have started her up and she is fully functional, you can begin your taxi - and in some cases, your immediate takeoff!

    Taxiing and Takeoff:
Taxiing the M22 is a bit of a strenuous task.  The response on the left/right rudder wheels are not very sensitive and could be improved, but it's not impossible to taxi, just difficult.  There is a slight bug with the nose wheel when taxiing too.  When you turn left, the nose wheel goes right and visa-versa.
When I began my takeoff, I suddenly realised that you could do the traditional method of takeoff or you could use the M22's Spoilers as a STOL method.  I have tried and tested both, and both are brilliant!  The STOL method is really for use when there is no runway available or when you need to get off the ground quickly.  In an every day scenario, I recommend using the traditional method.

    Flight:
What a great flyer!  The M22 is really something when it comes to flight.  Once you get into the air, the rate of climb is incredible, the aircraft really has got some power!  The recommended altitude is 10,000FT because the cabin in not pressurised.  I found the best rate of climb to be 2000FPM, this kept the engines at a constant, steady speed, without dramatic decrease in speed.  The M22 is quite a nippy aircraft to fly, it is great for weaving in and out of small spaces and just great fun to fly!

    Landing:
There are two ways to land, as I mentioned there are two ways of takeoff.  There is the STOL method or the traditional Method.  The same rules apply to landing as take off - Use STOL if necessary and traditional as the casual.

    Conclusion:
It's clear that the M22 is a definite add-on for FS.  You would be crazy not to download it.  It has many great features just waiting to be discovered and loved.  In my opinion, this is one of the best personal jet add-ons for FS, well done MoTIS!
