Aircraft flight dynamics designer, Pedro Oliveira, is proud to announce version 2.2 of his scenery: Project Lisbon Photoreal (PLP). With over 8 months of design work, the project started in May 2004 and was developed by a single designer.
The scenery itself is a very accurate photoreal presentation of Lisbon city, Portugal, based on real photographs and GPS measurements. Several photoreal 3D objects and main landmarks were designed and placed under GPS 15-meter accuracy.
The scenery also includes an accurate design of Lisbon airport (LPPT), which ground was depicted from real charts effective for year 2005, the first successful LPPT ground depiction, with accurate taxiway design, gates and aprons. The main terminal is also photoreal with every single gate accurately placed.
Photoreal textures are daylight/summer. As it is a photoreal scenery, FS2004 design technique "autogen" was not used, for there are many custom buildings and other landmarks near the airport and under approach glidepaths which are more than enough to give a realistic look while approaching to airport, plus having the advantage of being framerate-friendly. In a real approach, only highest buildings and closest to airport landmarks are that important. Nevertheless, a photoreal texture for night ground would enhance look at night, and may be available in a future release.
The scenery is freeware and is available from FlightSim.Com's file library.
