PM Flight Planner (www.pmfp.com), a popular online flight planning service, is back online with the completely renoved version. After a technical closure lasting a few weeks, the new version is available for the public. The service is still free, but requires a new registration.
The new version is a very advanced. The system structure is based on operators, and everything begins from the creation of a new operator or subscribing to another provided by the community. The performance profiles, as well as the briefing package designs, are completely customisable and sharable. Company routes are shared for the other users of an operator. All these renovations will give new possibilities and flexibility to the users, especially for the virtual airlines.
Auto routing supports for over two thousand of terminal routes as well as a world-wide navigational data. The system is integrated to the Eurocontrol CFMU and takes care of Conditional Routes (CDR), even/odd flight levels and many other route details.
Real world METAR and TAF reports, as well as actual NOTAMs are available during the flight planning progress or on the AIS Information Service, a section of the service providing aeronautical information from the databases.
PlannerWiki is a service providing documentation and support for the PMFP. Anyone can contribute and write content to the PlannerWiki, sharing knowledge about the service or about flight planning subjects in general. BugZilla bug tracking database is also an important development tool.
