May 17, 2005 - Flightproject International (FPI), a leading worldwide free of charge community where virtual pilots and controllers come together to enjoy a realistic aviation environment, is pleased to announce WestcoastATC as a new partner. Within the scope of the partnership both WestcoastATC's controllers and pilots will be able to take advantage of FPI's cutting edge software and server infrastructure while maintaining their own identity.
WestcoastATC's servers and central database have now been tied into FPI's to allow members from both communities to fly and control in a common environment. While members from both organizations will continue to remain within their respective community they will be joined together by a common network. FPI's members will be able to take advantage of additional ATC coverage, especially across the United States of America, and WestcoastATC members will further profit from additional traffic under their control.
"We are very excited to see these two leading networks joining hands. Both communities will clearly reap the advantages of this partnership. Furthermore, we look forward to welcoming additional professional Air Traffic Control coverage for our members" explains Markus Rehrs, Chairman of the FPI Providers.
"The community and staff at WestCoastATC.com are excited about this new opportunity to work with the FPI Community. Focused on a continued professionalism and strength our communities deserve we're gearing up to do our part. We are looking toward the future and welcoming the challenges and excitement ahead. Dedicated to be part of the dreams and aspirations of us all and looking forward to the strengths our two communites can provide together. Welcome to the new skies at FPI." mentions Erik Thompson.
With the initial testing phase now complete all systems have been set to 'active'.
