The Salt Lake City and Denver ARTCC's invite flightsim pilots to participate in CrissCross The Rockies, an ATC controlled flying event through 330 nm of mountain airspace. For full details, click on Read More.
The Salt Lake City and Denver ARTCC's proudly invite you to CrissCross the Rockies! Join us Saturday, August 6th, between 1700 and 2200 MST (8/6 2300Z - 8/7 0400Z) and find out just how many planes 330 nautical miles of airspace can hold! Because the flight is relatively short, we encourage pilots to make the trip as many times as they can.
For the KSLC-KDEN leg, pilots should file either KSLC TCH J56 CHE TOMSN4 KDEN, or KSLC SLC9 MTU EKR TOMSN4 KDEN. KDEN-KSLC flights please use KDEN ROCKI4 EKR SPANE4 KSLC. Charts for these SID's and STAR's can be found at the respective ARTCC's websites (http://www.slcartcc.org/ and http://www.denartcc.org/).
While pilots of all skill levels are welcome, we respectfully request text-only pilots plans their flights for the beginning or the end of the event when traffic is less heavy. Also because of the amount of traffic we expect, we ask that pilots listen carefully to the radio (we may have to talk very quickly!), make all turns and altitude changes at the standard rates, follow all speed restrictions, and be vigilant in maintaining visual separation from other traffic. Remember, pilots and ATC must work as a team for the system to function properly!
