A Regional Director is appointed by and accountable to the VATSIM Board of Governors. A Regional Director is one of seven full-voting members of the VATSIM Executive Committee. A Regional Director must oversee the Divisions within their Region and ensure that these are suitably staffed and properly administered. The duties of a Regional Director include day-to-day decisions relating to the operation of their Region, as well as promoting their Region and looking after it's ongoing development. A Regional Director must also ensure the delivery of all services that must be provided by a Region. These services include, but are not limited to, a Regional Conflict Resolution Panel and a Website for their region.
The Regional Director will provide strong leadership for the Region and its Divisions, and will routinely interact with key BOG members such as VP Regions, VP Supervisors, VP Conflict Resolution, VP Communications, and also with Division Directors, DCRM's, and other Division Staff. A Regional Director must therefore possess a high level of interpersonal skills, as well as having good management, team building and team leadership skills.
