VATSIM, the Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network, is delighted to announce the launch of the Virtual Radar Client. VRC has been created by Ross Carlson, a VATSIM Instructor, as an alternative radar client for VATSIM members, primarily for use on systems with multiple monitors.
VRC's main design goal has been to keep the primary radar scope as uncluttered as possible by keeping all secondary functions, such as chat windows and flight strips, in floating windows intended to be positioned on a side monitor. A "profile" system allows the user to save different configurations which can be loaded as required.
VRC has been designed primarily for ease of use in the simulated radar environment on VATSIM. The introduction of VRC gives virtual controllers a greater choice of how they organize and interact with their "scopes".
