VATUSA, the U.S. division of the VATSIM online network, has announced details for its 2007 annual convention, with sign-up now open. To learn more, click on Read more.
I wanted to send all of you a reminder of the VATUSA Convention that is coming up March 23rd and 24th. This is the second VATUSA convention and will proved to be event better then the last one.
This year we'll be at the Imperial Palace http://www.imperialpalace.com/. I'm not sure if any of you have been there, but, from what I'm told it is a very nice place.
We have almost have a full plate of presentations for you, to include a VATUSA fly in for pilots and controllers from the convention and at the same time, attend one of the VATUSA Air Traffic Control academy classes and get a preview of the pilot academy classes as well! Maybe even earn your Senior Student rating while you are there!!! Then, a great dinner and gift presentations that night and afterwards filled with some of that great company that you have been wanting to have for such a long time with those people who you only know by their voice.
Reservations needs to be made however for the hotel by Feb 7th in order for them to plan. If we don't get the amount of rooms booked that we have blocked, we will have to scale back those rooms blocked and we won't be able to guarantee a room for you at the discounted rate.
Friday night we'll have the town hall meeting where Jason and I will be bringing you up to date on the state of VATUSA, hopefully web stream it and allow a Q & A session for all of you on how we can improve over the next year.
Speaking of next year, no, we don't know where the convention will be. We did Central Region the 1st year, Western this year so, it will be either East or South, you decide at the convention.
Questions can be directed to Tom, the ZJX ATM (tom@vatusa.org) who has volunteered to take good care of us this year and be sure to thank him when you see him at the convention. I know that I will be.
Thanks for all that you do folks to make VATUSA Great, for with out you, we wouldn't be as successful as we are now.
As always, constructive feedback and kudos are always welcome to me or any of my staff at any of the email addresses listed on the VATUSA web site.
