The idea of FSL was born in August 07 in the flightdeck of a B744 freighter over the Bering Sea when Robert - founder and project manager of FSL - was thinking about why virtualplanepictures.net went down and never came back. It left a big gap in the FS community and Robert decided to fill that gap. With his friends and business partners Oliver and Malte he created FSL.
Features which will come soon and are not incorporated yet is a comments function for the pictures, a personal web album, a personal message system, an integrated video area for your FS Movies, Java drag and drop multiple picture and/or video upload, instant search for similar pictures in the picture details (when you click on the registration or aircraft type etc).
There are more features planned, but we will not disclose them at this time - we hope for your understanding.
We had over 1000 picture uploads so far and over 700 passed the screening. FSL is free of charge and everybody may register one account. Tell your FS fellows about our web site, help us to create a large screen shot and movie community, united in one place on the web!
There is a strong infrastructure behind FSL, we have our own server center, and we can promise you one thing: We will not disappear someday, because of shortage in time, resources or webspace. If FSL is successful and accepted by the community after the launch it will stay with you, and your screen shots are safe with us - for the years to come.
We have not implemented an own forum system yet, because we see no need to do so. But there are FSL dedicated boards in Roberts FS-Forum, where you can post your comments and ideas if you wish to do so. Should the FSL community grow and the users demand an FSL-integrated forum system we will be more than happy to provide you one.
