Of the thousands of aircraft now flyable with Flight Simulator, the overwhelming number of them were made using author Louis Sinclair's versatile FS Design Studio.
Since its birth 3 years ago, FSDS has attracted a large following by providing a user-friendly way to make intricate 3D scenery and knock-your-socks off flyable aircraft. A couple of weeks ago we released FS Design Studio V2.20 which had dozens of new features that modelers have been requesting.
Today we've posted a new update FSDS V2.24 which corrects a few bugs but also includes new help files. This is significant because it details the steps that a designer uses to animate 3D scenery. Beforehand, animated scenery was a task left to the gurus but with this new version of FDSD, advanced 3D scenery design is now within the reach of even more flightsim users.
Using simple "key frame" animation, you can bring static scenery to life such as this simple animated ferris wheel in FS2004 at Meigs Field:
The update is available now and is free for all registered users of FS Design Studio V2.x. Users with vaild registration key can download the update from the FSDS web page.
