VOZ Virtual was heavily involved in the testing and evaluation of the product thanks to assistance from real E-Jet Technical pilot input from the five real life line pilots that we have on staff. The simulator series is almost an exact replica of the real E190 and E170 jets and was manufactured at a similar time as the actual aircraft.
VOZ Virtual recently introduced the Brazilian manufactured, Embraer executive style jet to its fleet of aircraft and currently operates nine of the aircraft across its domestic network, with 8 more to come by the end of 2008. The E-Jet has allowed VOZ Virtual to bring jet aircraft services to the Sydney-Canberra market as well as to new regional destinations such as Albury and Port Macquarie.
The initial group of VOZ Virtual Embraer pilots travelled to Zurich to undertake their training and simulator sessions but the commissioning of the Wilco E-Jet simulator series today will see all training take place in Brisbane. The training course has been developed by Swiss Aviation Training in conjunction with VOZ Virtual and has been certified to world's best practices by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
VOZ Virtual Chief Operating Officer, Skip Fulton, said, "VOZ Virtual is committed to providing its pilots with the highest levels of training to support the airline's ongoing pilot recruitment needs. We consider this decision as an investment in the long term future of our pilots and the growth of our airline." He added, "We are proud to be an Australian based carrier and are committed to not just increasing the number of Australian based team members, but also cementing Brisbane's position as a leading aviation training hub for the Asia Pacific region."
VOZ Virtual Airlines now operates an exclusive PMDG fleet of 53 Boeing 737-700 and -800 Next Generation aircraft and now 9 WILCO Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft and currently employs over 80 local and international pilots. The airline has positioned itself as a major part of the Australian and New Zealand flightsim community providing a unique and highly realistic opportunity for the virtual pilot to embrace and mirror the day-to-day practices of a professional airline pilot. The airline will also commence long haul operations later this year with the B777-300ER flights from Australia to the United States.
This announcement reaffirms VOZ Virtual's commitment to the flightsim community of the highest level of realism and invites new suitable applicants to apply.
