To celebrate one hundred years of powered flight, and the release of the new Microsoft flight simulator, Lago released their all new add-on for flight sim 2004. The Roaring Thirties, includes two brilliantly detailed aircraft. The highly desirable Beech Staggerwing, and the incredible Stinson Gullwing are two masterpieces, both brilliantly modelled- the screenshots in this review speak for themselves! Both aircraft are available with many different paint schemes, and are equipped with stunning virtual cockpits, which are fully interactive. It is getting to be a habit now.. Lago always stick to their high quality standards, examples of this in FS Falcon, Tornado! & the Roaring Thirties. Click here to read Stuart Johnston's review of Roaring Thirties.
The 2D panels in both aircrafts, are also just as good as the fully an

virtual cockpits. The sound is also very impressive. Big ‘gruntie’, macho radial engines power the Staggerwing & Gullwing, producing an unbelievable noise, which has excellently been recorded and transferred to this release.
Fly both the Gullwing and the Staggerwing is a fun exercise and experience. They both react just as I remember seeing them, very quick in roll, but still sluggish in their own ways.
It’s the little things that impress me. One example of what impressed me, as I pushed the nose forward, the propellers went through supersonic, and of course I got the strangled cat type noise in return. Another example, the fully animated pilots, who interact with the aircraft.
So in a wrap up.. Superb!
I don’t think I have given Lago a bad review yet.. it’s damn near impossible to find anything to moan about this add-on.. and that’s why I love it to pieces! Just want to thank Lago for all their hard work, it really shows, and it is always a joy to review their fine work. Keep it up guys!
