RealAir Simulations Releases Two New Aircraft

Posted on Tuesday, November 25 @ 00:58:51 GMT by darklord

Flight Simulator 2004 Now available from RealAir Simulations are two famous aerobatic aircraft, the Super Decathlon and the SAIA-Marchetti SF.260. Along with the usual features you expect to find in any new FS2004 aircraft these have the unusual ability to do actual spins. For more information, click on Read More.

    RealAir Simulations Super Decathlon

The Super Decathlon is blessed with light and harmonious controls, as well as benign general flying characteristics. These qualities have made it a popular and highly regarded type for basic to intermediate aerobatic training. It is also an excellent trainer for pilots wishing to gain a tail-wheel endorsement.

The Decathlon's excellent visibility and stability make it a apable VFR tourer, with cruise performance roughly matching hat of a Cessna 172, but with significantly better climb erformance. Its light wing-loading and rugged tail-wheel ndercarriage give it excellent short-field ability.

    • Designed in Gmax with added specular highlights (dynamic shine)
    • Ultra high resolution 2d panel and crystal clear 3d virtual panel
    • Backlit gauges with exquisite glass highlights in both panels
    • Animated control surfaces and suspension
    • Fully animated pilot who responds to aircraft movements in 3-axis
    • Five Liveries - each with individually rendered virtual cockpits
    • Atmospheric Lighting - nav lights visible from virtual cockpit
    • Fully aerobatic including spins, loops, hammerheads etc.
    • The first flight simulator tail dragger aircraft capable of ground loops
    • Custom sound effects
    • Two optional smoke effects
    • Glass effect canopy and animated door
    • Included Flight Scenarios
    • Lavishly Illustrated Guide, Manual and Operating
    • Handbook
    • Excellent Frame Rates - specially optimised for FS2004 only

    RealAir Simulations SIAI-Marchetti SF.260

The challenge when designing this aircraft was not only to create an aerobatic, lively and highly entertaining machine, but to also make sure this SF.260 was completely smooth, controllable and able to cruise superbly well.

We have gone to much trouble to ensure that this aircraft is not only light to the touch and great fun to fly, just like the real SF.260, but also capable of great finesse and subtlety. You will find the controls very responsive, but at the same time allowing a very fine degree of control to be applied to all stages of flight. You can set a precise climb speed with trim, and this aircraft will hold that speed exactly, from 100 to 12,000 ft or so. Conversely, this aircraft is also capable of rolling at 120 degrees per second at high speed, and looping at up to 6 positive G.

Spinning is one of the most satisfying manoeuvres, and we are very proud to have made an aircraft which we believe to be the first _ for any Microsoft simulator _ to have the capability of spinning properly. To us, this means the aircraft must be able to autorotate, without increasing airspeed, by stalling then applying full rudder.

Apart from aerobatics, the SF.260 is capable of cruising at up o 182 KT on its single, naturally aspirated Lycoming IO-540, limbing at up to 1,800 FPM, while also providing a highly table and controllable platform during all phases of IFR flight. The SF.260 has been so successful at fulfilling the above criteria, that it is now being used in the flight-training role.

    • Designed in Gmax with added specular highlights (dynamic shine)
    • Ultra high resolution 2d panel and beautiful 3d virtual panel
    • Gauges pin sharp in 2d and extremely clear in 3d
    • Animated control surfaces and suspension
    • Animated pilot who responds to aircraft movements in 3-axis
    • Six Liveries - each with individually rendered virtual cockpits
    • Atmospheric Lighting - nav lights visible from virtual cockpit
    • Fully aerobatic including spins, loops, hammerheads etc.
    • Custom sound effects
    • Glass effect canopy and animated canopy slide with sound effects
    • Outstanding Frame Rates
    • Lavishly Illustrated Guide, Manual and Operating
    • Handbook
    • Optimised in all respects especially for FS2004
