Editorial

Ever fancied changing not only aircraft style, but species!? Then this mod is a must have for you. Why? Because it actually lets you fly around in a fully working UFO!

Preview screenshot

Sound like the kind of action you’ve been missing out on? Then you are just like me. I felt like a kid in a candy shop when my friend informed me of this release – it gives me a totally working UFO so that I can go around the world just like all those crazy conspiracy YouTube videos. This file provides you with a (fictional?) UFO to fly around in giving you all of the usual UFO things you might expect to exist.

From a phaser gun to a tractor ray you can have all the help that you need in making yourself at home here. I instantly loved it, with its unique charms and its gluttony of features making it feel far more enjoyable than it ever has in the past, for me. This can hit Mach 4 – a bit slow for a UFO, I know :p – but it’s also capable of going underwater which is a pretty awesome touch.

The Virtual Cockpit must have been a nightmare to come up with but the lads have gone the extra mile to do it here, using a smart VC that helps you ensure you can fly around with accuracy and with comfort.

This also makes use of the MS B737-400 sound files, albeit edited to give it a more out of this world sound. It’s a lovely touch, though, and does a spectacular job of making sure you can get the full flight experience – it’s probably a fair bit beyond what most of us would be used to, but that does not mean that this isn’t a whole amount of fun.

It’s also apparently part of a larger scale project by Librado Guzman which is going to eventually introduce UFO traffic to the simulated world. I don’t think that even Librado has the power to welcome our otherworldly brethren down to the real world just yet!

At the moment, though, this will work a treat for anyone who wants to appreciate the full gravity of actually being able to court around the skies in a UFO, showing the world a totally different side to the world of futuristic aviation.

It’s a lovely touch and one that I would be happy to use again in the future, and have actively recommended to some friends.

UFO who can't reach outer space, goes to stall and consumes 20000 liters in ten minutes (diesel oil perhaps). Dont make me laugh.

I was looking for an Alien craft to fly around in and have some fun with and this was a pleasant surprise, especially for free. You should expand on it as pay ware. I would pay for one, especially if you made some next gen versions with some missions too. Take off from Roswell, abduction scenarios etc. Oh yes and a outer space mode for breaking earths atmosphere and Still learning how to fly it and to assign some custom 1 button/key commands. I have been dragging those poor abductees around the world, looks like a parachute. I have a 3 monitor and 1 - 50" plasma TV set up so setting up different views are way cool. So far after a little learning curve, it's been fun. It fly's like you are in slew mode and the changes of direction side to side are amazing. The aerobatics you can do with it rivals anything on this earth. It could literally fly circles around other flying aircraft. I am going to work on it, flying circles around flying aircraft. It will need great stick and speed control. Well back to the Sunrise coming up over the earth and I too landed on the White House Lawn. Take me to your leader....sorry Mr. Alien, he's out playing golf. Thanks Tom

Hey i've got a problem. The Ufo is great! but, how i can let out that sticks for landing? (upthere in screenshot 4) pls help.

I had difficulty at first, but got a lot better with a little time. The laser works with Shift-E (door open), and the gear works with my gear lever, or my g key as it should, however try shift-w, if that doesnt work. i tried it and it worked fine. (Read Me files) Open the read me files, I actually printed them out, and they came in handy. I landed at the White House, and took two hostages, hee hee. This is fiction right? Oh yeah, there is a tractor beam as well to bring the two hostages inside, read the file, it helps.
jetranger04Sat, 03 Apr 2010 19:46:41 GMT
Would be better if it had more visibility and could actually land.
flyboy6128Sun, 14 Mar 2010 20:11:21 GMT
How do you put landing gear and lazer on. other than that ver good quality easy to fly. you can see aliens in side cocpit. I would pay 64 for this UFO.
