Editorial

This model was suggested to me by a friend to try out as I looked for new FS2004 material. The Globemaster III is an aircraft that I know very well, having used it on multiple occasions. I had, though, used this regularly on other simulators a lot more and never used it on FS2004 to my memory.

So, I grabbed this package and downloaded it (easily). It took a matter of seconds and ensures that you get a nice take on a very popular aircraft, making it much easier to fly in general. One thing that really struck me when using this mod, though, was just how much detail had gone into the aircraft.

Given that it’s part of Project Open Sky I should not be too surprised. However, the detail and the care of precision is so important for me when I used a mod, it just stood out like a sore thumb. The work on the aircraft is very impressive, but it’s the excellent work of the livery by David Evans that got my attention.

An Excellent Selection

Having been looking to add in more USAF rated material for a mission me and my friends were flying, this was worth a shot. What I found was that it offered a really comprehensive and detailed list of suggestions that I could not wait to try out.

The repaints and the work that has gone into the model as a whole means that I’d be happy to recommend this excellent flight add-on. The detail and care of the base model when it comes to cockpit accuracy, attention to detail in flight dynamics and much more ensures that this flies at a rate you would expect.

Overall, this is a mod that is a must-have for nostalgic minds and those still using lesser machines. It might not have the jazz of modern simulation add-ons, but it’s one of the finest I have seen for FS2004 in this category!
