Complete aircraft with panel including working radar shows vAI traffic, panel VC, drag chute, and realistic F-16 sound. This package includes anything what's needed to fly this aircraft in flightsimulator. F-16A MLU M4 Fighting Falcon of the Royal Danish Air Force. The MLU M4 updates introduces a software tape enabling the aircraft to carry and deliver the latest air to ground munitions like the JDAM. In addition to the already advanced and highly capable AIM-120 AMRAAM, the super agile IRIS-T short range air-to-air missile has been introduced, replacing the AIM-9L Sidewinder. The Pantera targeting pod makes a new dimension in Air to Ground missions used together with the new HMCS (Helmet Mounted Cueing System). The Pylon Integrated Dispenser System has the ALQ-162 ECM pod built-in and complements ALQ-131 ECM pod, carried on the centre line. PIDS also enables carriage of more chaff, housed in the pylon. This model includes special modifications to the basic F-16 like the drag chute compartment, night interception search light and a typical weapon loadout of AMRAAM's, IRIS-T's, GBU-12's, PIDS and ALQ-131. The VC has been rebuild for better refresh rate. Reworked flight dynamics and new AB, vapor and exhaust smoke effects finish the package. Aircraft model by: Kirk Olsson. F-16 for FSX

TAKEOFF and LANDING tips

These are guidelines that may help you when taking off and landing in my F-16.

Takeoff:

  1. Fully extend flaps (F8).
  2. Activate parking brake and push throttle to full power. Hold brake for 2-3 seconds (to build up power).
  3. Release brake and rotate at 125-135 knots.
  4. Raise gear, flaps and manually turn off landing lights if you had them on.

Landing:

  1. Reduce speed to 300 knots with speedbrake (/).
  2. Extend Flaps to full (F8). Adjust speed with throttle and speedbrake to stay on glide slope.
  3. Approach runway around 200 knots.
  4. Just before the runway at about 185 knots extend speedbrake (/), pitch nose up and increase throttle to slow descent.
  5. Cut throttle and touchdown between 145-160 knots.
  6. Hold positive nose pitch until speed has been reduced to between 130-140 knots. Then slowly lower the nose and apply brake between 100-120 knots.

Editorial

Lockheed Martin have been for some time one of the most popular aircraft for using within a simulator. When you see the incredible variety in what they offer, the reasons become fairly obvious – they are the masters of the crazy gunships! If you like to tear through the skies at brutal speeds and really get that top-speed feel that a military grade aircraft can offer you then I can only recommend looking at this excellent F-16 package. It’s got all of the tricks you would hope to see on each of the models provided, and it comes with that absolutely outrageous level of quality that the F-16 deserves.

It’s an aircraft with a massive reputation, and has even had video games in the name after it! A massively important part of the military aviation timeline, you can take into a massively realistic equivalent through this package. It’s got everything that you need included so that you literally just need to install it and hop in – this makes all of those difficult waits to get started with your new download a thing of the past. It’s a very simple process and is one of its main benefits.

Tooled Up

Outside of the fact its easy to get installed, though, you are getting a very complete set of aircraft. With all of the right working panels and radars that you would hope an F-16 would come with, you’ll have access to some truly outstanding visuals from the cockpit. It has all of the little extras that you would hope to see, and everything that you need to make the flight as realistic as possible has been included. This goes far beyond your usual mod, and really gives the F-16 the kind of package that it has deserved for quite some time.

It even comes with missiles including the AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-9 L Sidewinder missiles so you can fire away to your heart’s content and get that real power we all want to have. I personally always wanted to flight a flight simulator that had warfare aspects included and for anyone else who is of a similar mind, this gives you the feeling of the raw power and audacity of the aircraft mixed with its incredible range of firepower.

Incredibly Realistic

Basically, if you want to make sure that you enjoy yourself when you start firing across the countryside and causing havoc you’ll want to have this absolute monster installed. The package allows you to get into the air with the typical loadout you would hope for, as well as truly realistic flight dynamics to make it act and feel like the real thing.

If you are looking for realism, then you’ll find it here in abundance. A simple package that really is all that you could hope for – simple to use and fly, and capable of giving you a sheer shudder of just how powerful these aircraft can be. Although the F-16 might not be the talk of the town any longer, it’s still a hugely popular aircraft that will blow you away when you first step inside this excellent virtual equivalent.

Just downloaded the F-16 and installed the viperden folder in the FSX folder per instructions, but Lockeed Martin F-16 not showing up in the FSX Aircraft page. Help please

The original canopy glass and the fix for it both show up as green or yellow opaque areas. How can i fix this? Also, how do you fire the missiles?

I downloaded the aircraft, but I find that the cockpit canopy is an opaque green color and I can't see out.
