Editorial

When I first picked up this remake of the Pegasus, I was not sure what to expect as I never heard of the aircraft before now! What I did find, though, was that upon first downloading this that it was incredibly easy to install. This put me on the right path to success and made sure that within no time at all I could have the software downloaded and ready to go right away.

Project Open Sky are one of my favorite teams so I knew that Mathieu Vos and his team could be trusted to do something strong with this, and I have to say that they never let me down this time.

The awesome addition of new features rarely seen in mods like independent suspension, front gear steering and opening passenger doors offered a nice level of presentation, performance and realism to the whole thing – it made sure that I felt like I was spending time within the cockpit of the real thing which I have to say was an exceptionally nice touch.

This is something that really does push the performance levels up through the roof, and also ensures that you are flying something fresh that will feel a bit different to the usual renditions of aircraft of this size. It also accurately portrays the flight dynamics of the aircraft with stunning accuracy so you can feel like you are spending time in the cockpit of the real thing – it handles itself with real professionalism, which is great to fly behind.

The extra additions of things like rolling wheels, tilting bogies, flexing wings, thrust reversers and many other minor additions and animations help the whole thing come together better than ever; it really does a great job of representing additions like the spoilers and new animations to help it all look as good as it can.

One thing that really impressed me was the new night lighting – this is a regular feature but never does it feel as effective as it should. With full night lighting now enabled with this package, though, you actually get to use lights that illuminate the whole runway in front of you.

The entire package will ensure that you have control, performance and visibility all in the one place – naturally, having all of this detailed in such a unique manner means you have no problems in really controlling the aircraft and making it work just as you had intended.

This does not mean that the design has been neglected, though. The textures are just awesome and do a wonderful job of promoting the aircraft with things like reflective windows, new crash effects and extra animations making the whole aircraft move as one. Each part has been built with the next in mind so it all works in tandem and does everything it can to solidify and cement that look and feel together perfectly.

As far as model package go, not much out there can compete with this wonderfully designed Pegasus remake.
