This repaint is for the A2A P-51D FSX update only and depicts P-51D-5-NA 44-13954, Lt. Col. John McGinn's 'Da Quake' of the 338th FS, 55FG out of Wormingford UK. This aircraft has an interesting history; bellied in out of fuel at Cap Ferrat, near Bordeaux in France on August 26th 1944 by Lt Sam Gevorkian, it was allegedly recovered in 1981 and displayed at Musee de l'Air, Paris 1984-96. It was subsequently shipped to the UK and was to be restored to flight status. However, it may not be 'Da Quake' that was dug up: also it has recently changed hands and disappeared.

Unzip the folder 'daquake' into a temporary location such as your desktop. Drag and drop the 'texture.daquake' folder into your Airplanes/WWII_Fighters_P51D folder then copy and back up your aircraft.cfg file. Paste the following lines into the original aircraft.cfg file.

Replace the [fltsim.xx] with the next variation number and save.

Now enjoy....!

This repaint is based on the superb WWII Fighters paint kits by John Terrell and A2A.

I must also give credit to Paul Randall's invaluable resource on the 8th AF fighter groups and to the 55th FG website.

This repaint is freeware; it can be used and modified as you wish for your own use. It must not be used or sold for commercial gain. If you want to publish any repaints based upon it they must be published as freeware and must acknowledge the authors Dave Quincey, A2A and John Terrell.
