Take off from Heathrow in a Cessna and climb to no more than 1000 Feet......point your nose East and look out for the river - then just follow it - some great sights await you......

In all these pictures you see default MS scenery with enhanced lighting....

1) A couple of bridges and a clear view of the towers of Battersea Power Station there on the right as we head east from Heathrow.....

2) Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament just there on your left, and the British Airways London Eye over on the right....

3) A much closer view of the British Airways London Eye

4) After a swift bit of banking to get away from the Eye....St Paul's Cathedral clearly visible

5) Coming up on Tower Bridge.......flying through it is a challenge......

6) At the other end of the City - the Millennium Dome (or, as most of us stiff-assed Brits call it - "The Millennium D'OH!!!"

Hope you enjoy these!

Cheers!

For a challenge, it's fun taking off from Heathrow in the Bell Jetranger, heading along the river at about 100 feet, flying through Tower Bridge and then trying to land on top of the Millennium Dome....give it a go!

That's awesome! Love

I took some screenies of London before, but with my old video card so they don't look as good as yours.

I've flown along the Thames in FS09, although I've never done it at night. . . nice shots there, Greg1138. But I've always taken off from London City Airport, which is a bit of a challenge in itself. There are two tall buildings at the west end of the runway, and you take off between them. I bet the people who work in those buildings are nervous wrecks, watching planes whiz by all day. Wink

Indeed - that's a good'un....it's quite fun to stand near there and just watch what's going on - the planes often look awfully close to the buildings!

Great shots Greg-

I thought those 3D objects where payware to begin with- and after some reasearch actually found something called "Visual Flight London" which I reccomend everyone checks out.

As for the two towers near the end of the docklands city airport- does they exist in real life or are they just crap autogen placement- I certainly don't see them on my photoreal London!

The buildings at the west end of the London City Airport runway are certainly in the right place. Canada Tower is the biggest along with the HSBC tower etc.

In this picture, you can see on the right at the bottom, Canada Tower and the HSBC tower and the Millenium Dome and then you can see London City Airport at the top left; just beyond the white building. The ILS approach into runway 10 is very high and seems very strange when you fly it for the first time
