Yesterday, I flew in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk from Morristown to Newark. Since I don't have a microphone, I could only text the controller and hear his voice. It was very fun!
Later on, I was flying from Los Angeles to St. Maarten in an EVA Air B747-400. I flew from Taipei to Los Angeles last week offline but I did this route online. I asked the controllers to see if I could use time compression because I was in a hurry and they said yes. However, I rushed in the end landing at TNCM because it was my bedtime. I made a very dangerous landing, and my brother monitored the vertical speed. He said that I touched down at 1,500 fpm, one of my most dangerous landings ever!
Yesterday was my first online flight ever!
Comments on my experience on VATSIM are welcomed!Love the Airbus A380. It's huge! |

WHOA! you lucked out there Kevin... yeah let that be a lesson to you though, plan your flights with enough time to land before bed lol.
Good to hear though. I have been thinking about joining VATSIM...US AIR TALES- Stories of one man's virtual life as a pilot |

Yeah, my parents always pressure me to get off the computer around bedtime. Luckily that there wasn't controllers at TNCM or they'll tell me to slow down the time compression or make me go around if there was traffic on the runway. Luckily there wasn't any traffic or controllers over there so late at night.
I started my very first VATSIM flight with the Skyhwak at around 5:30 P.M. and stopped around 7:15 P.M. for dinner I believe. Later on, I made my continuation of my EVA Air flight from last week from KLAX to TNCM, which was originating from RCTP. I believe that I started that flight at around 9 P.M. and ended my flight at 11:15 P.M. Luckily, the controllers were generous enough to allow me to use 16X time compression, otherwise I might had made an overnight flight!Love the Airbus A380. It's huge! |
