Making Repaints For FSX is it worth the trouble ?

Hi flying mole here, I am trying to repaint a bell 206 jetranger to simulate a Military O-H 58 which is basicly the same aircraft, I just want mine repainted OD green. I have read and ben redirected all over the internet have looked at and tryed gmax, photoshop, sdk, il tools or something like that, and all i am getting is the run arounds it seems. Is there a simple way to repaint and if so how, please tell me before i go insane. Crying or Very sad
