Hello everyone. I'm thinking about buying a new computer. If money were NOT an issue, what is the best (brand) computer to buy? What should the specs be for superlative play and scenery? This would be for both FSX and FS( (and all my other combat sims). Also, I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 Graphics card. What is the best one to have w/ flight sims? Thanx!

Hi there, it's not about money (although that helps), it's about matching the right gear. I run an AMD 4800+, nvidea 9500gt, 4Gb RAM and i am flying fine. In conjunction with FSX i also run Real Environment Extreem (an absolute must), 3d lights and Real Weather Extreem and still getting frame rates in the 40's. FSX runs awesome on my XP drive, crap on my Vista drive, and use Windows 7 as a coffee coaster. Good luck. Laughing

Well, there isn't really an OEM you should buy computers from if you're looking for a desktop. In almost all cases, it's better to buy the parts and assemble them on your own.

As for specs, something around these lines would probably do well:

AMD Phenom II 955 or Intel Core i7 920
Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or ATI Radeon HD 5770
4 GB DDR3 RAM (or 3 or 6 GB if you use Intel i7 (triple channel))
