Description
In this video we see why all the safety information you are given when you fly about where to find your lifejacket given a landing on water is really just a complete waster of time. Here in Moroni in the Comoros Islands an Ethiopian airlines Boeing 767 attempts to make a crash landing on water close to shore. The plane was carrying 175 passengers and crew and had been hijacked between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Nairobi, the Kenyan capital. It ran out of fuel while the pilot was still trying to negotiate with the hijackers.

How is the safety information give a time waster? Moreover, how is this video even remotely relevant to that? It is absolutely mandatory that the passengers know about the safty precautions and equipment available on the aircraft they're on. Can you imagine a passenger sitting on an emrgency exit seat that doesn't know scratch about how to open it? Where's the benefit in that? A 3 minute demonstration of how to inflate the lifejacket and the whereabouts of the exits is under no circumstances a waste of time.
