One of our forum members, TomTheTank has accepted the offer to review Around the World in 80 Flights by First Class Simulations. This is only the second review by one of our forum members. The review starts: I first flew FS98 and was hooked. With each new Flight simulator release,I became a flight sim addict. FS2004 was at first a huge dissapointment. One of our forum members, cheekytrolly has recently reviewed a copy of Project Canarias 2006 and posted it on our forums - I decided to post it on the home page for all to see. The review goes: I recently downloaded the payware scenery for “La Reunion Island” by Francesim, and have to say, it combines everything I could have ever wanted from a flight simulator scenic package. The TrackIR head tracking product has been around for a few years now, and its name is becoming recognized within the world of Flight Sim. With technological advances with every release, the realism offered in the current release is superb. The guys at NaturalPoint have sent us one of the latest products, the TrackIR3 Pro for review, but not only that - we have the vector expansion pack included to review, giving you "Six Degrees of freedom (6DOF)" as stated by the manufacturer, for most realistic head tracking that's fully supported in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. The 6600 series of GPUs (NV43) are based on the NV40 core architecture. The entire feature set from the 6800 line is carried over with only a few exceptions. First, the memory bandwidth of the card is cut from 256 down to 128. This should have a fairly large impact on AA/AF performance and other very graphics memory intensive operations. The second adjustment NVIDIA includes in NV43 is a reduction in the maximum number of supported pixel pipelines. 6600 series cards have 8 pixel pipelines. Richard Goldstein's (aka Georender) latest title in the Georender range of sceneries was released a few months ago already, but still people continue to discover it. This title was released as the first in a new series (New World Series) from the new publishing compny FSAddon. 'Jorin' from the German FS website Flugsimulation.de took a look at the scenery and reports (in German) on this great product. For our German readers: find it here!

Guru of 3D received their GeForce 6800 Ultra and updated their preview with a massive update today. Now included in this preview are a photo shoot of the product and of course a huge number of benchmarks taken with games like Call of Duty, Halo: Combat Evolved, Unreal 2004, Splinter Cell, RTCW and several others. The games have been tortured at several settings, default (raw), Anisotropic Filtering settings up-to 16x, combined with Anti Aliasing. They are also showing what the difference of a 2.8 and 3.4 GHz processor can mean for a graphics card like this. Anyway, have a look I'd say. The article is now at 24 pages and yet there will be another update soon. Click on Read more.....

To celebrate one hundred years of powered flight, and the release of the new Microsoft flight simulator, Lago released their all new add-on for flight sim 2004. The Roaring Thirties, includes two brilliantly detailed aircraft. The highly desirable Beech Staggerwing, and the incredible Stinson Gullwing are two masterpieces, both brilliantly modelled- the screenshots in this review speak for themselves! Both aircraft are available with many different paint schemes, and are equipped with stunning virtual cockpits, which are fully interactive. It is getting to be a habit now.. Lago always stick to their high quality standards, examples of this in FS Falcon, Tornado! & the Roaring Thirties. Click here to read Stuart Johnston's review of Roaring Thirties.

Here’s a review on Lago’s previous scenery project, the great GeoRender5! I have never had the slightest interest in scenery for the flight sim. I believe that scenery available is not really worth the money. After buying one area of scenery, you fly around it, very pretty, but after a few flights, you begin to get bored of it. Eventually you just get sick and tired of it, and place it up on your old dusty shelf. The shelf of no return. Lago’s GeoRender5 is completely different, and has earned my seal of approval, which many of you know by now, is not easily obtained. GeoRender5 sits proudly on my top five of recent add-ons. So lets take a look, to see what makes GeoRender5 stand out from the crowd. Click

For more than a century, human beings have used engines to pull, push, or lift themselves into the air, and for the past two decades, Microsoft Flight Simulator has let armchair pilots explore the exciting world of aviation on their PCs. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight commemorates this double anniversary by offering more planes, better graphics, and more options than ever before right out of the box, but the game will likely reach its full potential only if it receives great support from its player community.

Just out of the MoTIS hanger comes the MO-X3 'Sky Jammer'. This is an extremely powerful aircraft with great acceleration and control surface responses. The aircraft is great fun but not for the faint hearted. The aircraft has a great power to weight ratio, the main reason why it is so responsive and has such great acceleration.

Patrick Lehnen went chasing the Weather for us and wrote this review: " With Flight Simulator 2000 came a new feature called ?Real Weather?. This function downloaded the real weather from a server at the MSN Gaming Zone and showed it in FS2000. With GetWeather Version 1.1 from Bearsoft (latest version is 1.4) the user could store the downloaded weather for later use on his/her hard disk. Today?s Flight Simulator 2002 connects to the weather server at Jeppesen which provides the real weather data. Get Weather was adapted to FS2002 with a new set of features, like the download of Winds aloft. ..." Click here to read Patrick Lehnen's full review of GetWeather 2.0 for FS2002
