British Airways traffic decreases in August

British Airways has reported that its passenger traffic measured in revenue passenger kilometers decreased 1.6% to 10.17 billion in August 2008, compared to 10.33 billion in the same period of 2007.

The airline's passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometers, increased 1.9% to 13.16 billion, compared to 12.91 billion in August 2007. Load factor decreased by 2.7 points to 77.3%, compared to 80% in August 2007.

The airline reported a 2.2% increase in premium traffic and a 2.1% fall in non-premium traffic. Cargo, measured in cargo ton kilometers increased 1.1% to 401 million in August 2008, compared to 397 million in the same period of 2007.
