Battle of the Airlines is the largest virtual air race on the planet, with more than 1500 pilots participating last year. To learn how you can participate in this year's event, click on Read More.
Do you KNOW what Battle of the Airlines is? Just the LARGEST virtual air race on the planet! The X-Games of flight simulation! The World Cup of flight sim enthusiasts around the globe!
Last year more than 1,500 pilots signed up to participate in the 5th annual race - but less than a third of them managed to finish the challenging race to the moon! (Yes, they did land on the moon with FS2002!)
This year, we anticipate more than 2,000 pilots will sign up to be thrown into the heart of Africa, as virtual "bootleggers of fine goods" (smugglers), racing across the continent in an attempt to complete the 6th installment - "A Bootleggers Guide to Africa".
If you have FS2004, and can take off and land a plane, you can participate in this race. It's challenging, but it's not rocket science! Sure, veterans in our forum will tell you that "there is no way to prepare yourself" for the challenges that will lie ahead of you...
"And just how do you train for BOTA? Fly inverted while your wheels fall off, the tail drags the ground, and you land on a lake, pontoons up?"
...but we guarantee you'll have fun, meet some new friends, and experience a whole new level of extreme flight simulation, as you follow the exploits of "RaceRunner Ray", "Reporter Bear", "the Don", "Fellatia", and other virtual personalities in Africa.
Then go and visit the main website, and read up on the many aspects of the race, view and try past races, and sign up to our forum to interact with other contestants and receive the latest information and theories about what to expect this year.
We guarantee you'll enjoy yourself, whether you finish the race first or last - just participating and surviving is worth some serious bragging rights.
So come on, what are you waiting for? This IS your written invitation! Come visit our site and join in on what promises to be one of the most memorable events of 2004!
