Horizon Flight Simulation, based near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, is proud to showcase its newest product: The Pro-Series Regional Jet Control System (RJCS).
The RJCS, based on the Canadair Regional Jet, is the result of months of research and development. Utilizing the expertise of a CRJ-700 captain with Comair (a Delta Connection carrier), Horizon made a concerted effort to capture both the look and functionality of the unit. The yoke, switch knobs, map chart and other small components of the system were molded and resin cast by Horizon to insure product stability and realism.
The RJCS comes in two versions: a stand-alone and a dual unit. The stand-alone system is designed for desktop training and easily connects to Windows based systems via a USB port. The dual unit requires an I/O card--such as Epic--and is specifically manufactured for flight deck training environments. Both units employ 130 lb./force hydraulic actuators to recreate the control forces experienced in the real aircraft. In addition, the dual system can be equipped with independent stick shakers and Horizon is developing a stick pusher motor module.
Horizon is currently employing the RJCS technology in its 737 & 747 product line with orders already accepted from Florida, Great Britain and Japan--including the Project Magenta team.
