Editorial

Having never had the pleasure of flying a Canadair jet in the past, I decided it would be fun to take that name on for the day. Looking around for something to use, I came across this brilliant set by Premier Aircraft Design, which ticked all of the boxes for me just by reading the description.

I decided to start with the package and installed it, which was very easy to do as it always is with Premier Aircraft Design packages. It was quick and simple, and had it all set up in no time at all, ready to rock.

As soon as I hopped into the cockpit, though, I was left thoroughly impressed by the design and the attention to even the most miniscule of details. The whole shape and style of the aircraft was spot on, as well, so the whole package really looked the part for me. It’s all of the little things that can be added to an aircraft that make it work for me, so it was nice to see that the team behind this had taken the time to really add that extra layer of care, love and detail to each section to make it really stand out.

However, I’ve used plenty of different aircraft in the past that looked great and operated with all the smoothest animations and extras possible, only for it to fly like a fantasy aircraft. Thankfully, this sticks to the truth of the matter and delivers something that’s genuinely fun to fly around in.

This model takes care of all the little details both in style and performance, though. From those extras like having a registration number to coming with 2D panels and a dynamic virtual cockpit, it makes sure that looking at the model is as easy as it is to fly in the first place. Overall, I was hugely impressed with the ease of flight that this produced – it’s very simple to maneuver, but according to all of my research this is more or less what the real thing is supposed to feel like.

I was able to double check anything I thought, though, by checking out the tiny army of PDFs included that gave me checklists, references and so much more to help me stay on the right track. Not only is it a lot of fun to fly, but it’s a piece of cake to learn!

The whole thing was massively impressive to me, especially the new sounds. These fresh customized sound packages come with all the details that you could need in ensuring that you can hear the aircraft operate as much as you can see it fly. These extras all come to life in the perfect manner, ensuring that you feel as if you are flying something of a genuinely new class and caliber.

As far as getting to finally test out the Bombardier, and to fly it with the Canadair logo on goes, this was one of the most enjoyable flight sim experiences I have had in recent times!
