Bomb hoax delays Kuwait flight

Dhaka, March 13 : A Kuwait Airways flight was delayed for over four hours following a bomb hoax at the Zia International Airport here Sunday, officials said.  The Kuwait-bound flight left at 11.15 a.m. after a massive search operation, airport security officials said. "The caller claimed a bomb had been planted on the Kuwait Airways flight," the official told IANS.

He said departure of the flight was postponed and it took off only after a thorough security check.

The official said no explosive device was found during the search.

An official at the Kuwait Airways office said all passengers scheduled to fly by the flight had left.

Following repeated bomb attacks that left many people dead in different parts of Bangladesh in the past year, the government had beefed up security at the airport.
