FlightLevel has released Secrets of Ferihegy Airport, a documentary about Budapest's international airport (LHBP). The film was originally shot for a Hungarian TV channel back in 2000, but this version has English voice-over for a wider audience. Secrets of Ferihegy Airport presents many interesting places hidden from, and off-limits to, ordinary passengers, such as the control tower, the Air Navigation Service (air traffic control), catering, the Airport Fire Brigade, weather equipment, runway lighting at work, maintenance of a Boeing 767 in the hangar, and the ramp service. Also among the highlights are a flight to Paris and back to Budapest in a Boeing 737 with an absolutely incredible short final to runway 31R, as well as a Russian made Tupolev 154 simulator, which was put out of service and dismantled shortly after being filmed.
You can download a free twelve-minute (!) promo of Secrets of Ferihegy Airport and even a short pre-trailer of Cockpit Secrets, the filmmakers' upcoming release.
