Flight1 are pleased to announce the opening of the "Flight1 Pilots' Club" in the online phenomenon 'Second Life'.

'Second Life' is a 3-dimensional on-line world; part game, part chat-room, part social whirlwind. Sweeping the world, Second Life boasts millions of participants and its own virtual economy. Large corporations from Adidas to Ford and even newspapers and television reporters have a presence. Pretty much anything you want to do in real life you can do in Second Life and more.

What better way for enthusiasts of a virtual hobby such as Flight Simulation to meet each other, than to meet in the virtual world called 'Second Life'?

Flight1 have bought a plot of virtual land and built the "Flight1 Pilots' Club", to allow enthusiasts to meet in the Members Bar for a virtual beer, watch Flight Sim videos and slide shows, listen to the Flight Simulation based IFC Global Network radio. Or sit back, meet other aviation enthusiasts and chat about Flight Simulation or any other topic they choose.

In addition to the bar, the club has a large display area showing a range of Flight 1 DVD packaging in 3D, so that members and visitors can walk around and read the front and back of the boxes, click them to visit the Flight1 web pages for the products, or receive a notecard of links to independent reviews of the particular product by leading web sites. Events are also planned to give members a chance to meet and chat with key people in the Flight Simulation Community.

Membership of the club and 'Second Life' are both free.

Visit the link below to go directly to the club if you are already a 'Second Life' resident, or if not, be automatically re-directed to the Second Life web site to register, create your 3D avatar and take a short tutorial which will teach you how to get around in-world.
