The Flyware crew have released their FsXpand 5.3. This network-driven custom panel toolbox has been extended with a Primary Flight Display and a Navigational Display for the Boeing 737NG. A future extension will provide a full FMS, but for now the system has to be operated using the FS autopilot. Key commands are available to simulate the EFIS control panel, and a few MCP functions. These can easily be executed when using a USB card capable of sending keystrokes to the screen.
The new system is based on DirectX, and system requirements have gone up to at least a 1GHz 1GB Ram machine with at least a Geforce II MX 64. Flyware is planning to enhance the product line further with similar panels for other aircraft of the Boeing family and Airbus types. They will release an update of their current gauge graphics very soon to provide for adequate standby instruments. FSXpand is compatible with FS298, FS2004, and FSX.
