2nd Savannah FBO Debuts in SheltAir Soft Opening

Posted on
SheltAir Aviation Services has opened a new FBO–the 12th in its network–at Georgia’s Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport. The new FBO is located in a temporary facility in a 1,400-sq-ft office space attached to a 13,000-sq-ft hangar north of the Gulfstream maintenance facility.
Construction began last year on SheltAir’s new 7,000-sq-ft FBO terminal, which should be completed early in the second quarter. “This is just a soft opening,” said SheltAir marketing director Joe Ribaudo. “We’re anxious to get the new executive terminal opened, but we want to make sure that everything in the new terminal is perfect before we open to the public. After the new terminal is built, SheltAir plans to hold a grand-opening reception and “welcome week” to introduce customers to the new facility. SheltAir also plans to add more hangars and eventually a taxi-through canopy. Another company, Liberty Ventures, had planned an FBO at Savannah to compete with Signature Flight Support, but that never opened and SheltAir purchased the Liberty lease.
