ASA CRJ-200s' Down For The Count?

Posted on
On Wednesday 1st, April, 2009 Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) also a regional carrier for Delta Airlines have grounded 60 of its' CRJ-200 aircrafts for inspection. It has been reported that a review of the inspection paperwork done on the engines may not have met the criteria and requirements of the engines' manufacturer(s).
The inspection is forecasted to take an estimated time of up to 42hrs to complete which will obviously lead to inevitable delays for many passengers who have flights booked with ASA. However Delta Airlines is working to accomodate affected passengers on partner flights or on Delta flights it self. Atlantic Southeast airlines currently operates a fleet of 4 CRJ-900ER with 6 in order, 39 CRJ-700ER, 110 CRJ-200ER and 1 CRJ-100ER.
