2008: Billund Airport saw cargo volumes declining

Year 2008 ended with a a 4.8 percent decline in full-year cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport.

The airport handled a total of 55.775 tonnes of cargo, against 58,617 in the record year 2007.

Exports dropped the most with 30,729 tonnes, a decline by 5.6 percent, while imports were down 3.9 percent to 25,046 tonnes.

December did little to brighten the picture, with a fall by 21.6 percent in total volumes, 3,217 tonnes, including 1,444 tonnes of imports, down 22 percent, and 1,773 tonnes of exports, down21.3 percent.
