Russia to complete shelved airport construction

The government of the Omsk region and Russia's Rosaviatsiya have agreed on the terms for finalising the construction of Omsk Fedorovka Airport, long overdue.

The airport construction is currently 60 percent finished, and the parties have now agreed on the means for financing the remaining parts of the construction works.

The airport project is embedded in the Russian federal plans, Modernisation of the Transport System in Russia 2002-2010, and will play a crucial role in the planned set-up of a multi-modal transport complex around Omsk.
