Turkish mega-order for aircraft looming

Turkish Airlines has extended the deadline for Boeing and Airbus to present offers for a total of 105 new aircraft.

The aircraft manufacturers now have till January 19, 2009, to answer to THY's call for delivery of 25 long-haul aircraft plus options for a further 10 units, and delivery of 50 mid-range aircraft with options for a further 20 units.

In total, the orders and options will carry a six bio USD price tag.
