The fifth Round The World Challenge has been announced and interested flightsimmers are encouraged to sign up. This version will be a free for all travelling east to west. For full details, click on Read More.
The Round The World Challenge or RTWC was started back in the middle of last year at fsfreeforall.net and debuted in mid to late last year. It was a huge success as thousands of people took part in it. Not only have we brought it back but we have decided to make a few changes to keep things fresh, new and interesting as always. In the past in all 4 versions of the RTWC we have had structured flight plans as well as specified aircraft classes and types. We had a great time, as did the members that took part. This challenge will be a little different. This challenge has no flight plans, no aircraft type restrictions, and no specific route. The only rules, aside from posting procedures are that you must continue in the direction of travel. This journey will be an East to West route, where it begins is up to the first person to take to the skies. Generally speaking it took about 2-3 weeks to complete the RTWC's. With no restrictions as to the type of aircraft flown it could be a very short journey, or it could take another few weeks. After the Free For All version is completed we have another ready to go that is in the same format as the previous challenges have been with a good mix of general aviation, larger and even vintage aircraft classes.
We hope you will come and join us as we venture across the far reaches of the world. Bring along a friend or two, fly with your buddies or go it alone, it is in your hands. You can fly with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 it is up to you, our server will allow both versions to fly together on one server at the same time, you won’ t even know the difference.
Sincerely
Jeff Wrobel
