MikeMax Lock Haven Piper Memorial Released

Posted on Sun, 08 Nov 2009 15:34:46 GMT
Lock HavenWilliam T. Piper Memorial Airport in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, USA, is a historical city and airport in the history of aviation. For many years it has been the home for Piper Aircraft Corporation and birth place for hundreds of Piper Cubs and other Piper Aircrafts. William Thomas Piper Sr., the founder of Piper Aircraft Corporation, lived and died in Lock Haven. Currently the airport runs the Piper Aviation Museum.

This scenery features this historical general aviation airport with great realism and attention to details. All runways and taxiways replicate the real ones with great precision and detail, all custom high resolution textures, marks, taxiway centerlines.

Complete photorealistic look of the airport during the whole year, during the day or night. Also the scenery features the new level of realism in airport lighting features. All custom photorealistic 3D elevated runway edge, taxiway edge lights, PAPI lights, REIL strobes.

Just like many of untowered general aviation airports in the real world, Lock Haven William T. Piper Airport uses pilot activated runway and taxiway lights, which means that a pilot has to tune a special frequency and click his microphone to turn on the runway and taxiway lights. We are the first who ever implemented such a feature in a scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Also, PAPI lights are 100% custom and 100% realistic, which means they function just like the real lights. MikeMax is also one of the only (if not the only) developer who actually made that.

The scenery is completely FPS friendly which means you don't need to have a powerful computer to fully enjoy it.
