During the incident there was only one flight that was diverted to KDTW Detroit Metro Airport. All other aircraft was reported to have continued on course. There were no reported delays. Per the FAA Spokeswomen Air Traffic Controllers maintained control of local traffic from the field, while Cleveland Center handled the airspace.
As to the cause of the fire there has been no official word from fire officials, nor the FAA. However, due to smoke damage it is expected that the Tower at Flint Bishop Airport will not reopen for about a week.

The control tower at Bishop International Airport

On March 26th at 10:15am local time the FAA Great Lakes Region office was notified that the Tower at Flint Bishop Airport (KFNT) was on fire and that the fire dept was enroute. All Air Traffic Controllers from the 5th floor was evacuated safely. The fire was found to be on the 1st floor.
