With the last launch of the Space Shuttle Atlantis I am reminded that there are two more scheduled flights left in the Shuttle program. What Alternatives do we have? Well there is the Russian Soyuz ships and that is it!
With The cancellation of the Constellation program by Mr.Obama, We are left with nothing of our own to ferry Astronauts back and fourth to the international Space Station. This puts the United States in third place in manned space exploration!
Even Astronauts are commenting on The Obama Administration’s decision the Scrap The Constellation program. Neil Armstrong said in an interview with Fox news “The ... decision to cancel the Constellation program, its Ares 1 and Ares V rockets, and the Orion spacecraft, is devastating,"
The Obama Administration Defended it’s stance by saying "We wanted to take the best of what was available from Constellation,” Claiming that They want to still use “The best parts of The Constellation program “ is, in my opinion is a cop out. To get us back to the moon or even Mars a Constellation type program is needed to get there. The Obama plan is short sighted and diminishes our ability to get to space and maintain the ISS.
