According to a report issued by the US Marine Corps, the MV-22 military tiltrotor aircraft crashed during a US-Morocco joint training exercise, called "African Lion". The aircraft operated from amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima, and it crashed soon after taking off from the ship.

The US Marine Corps and the US Air Force Special Operations Command operate the V-22 aircraft. Over the past two decades, the V-22 has had six crashes with 36 fatalities. There have been four major failures of this aircraft during flight-testing, one crash during combat and several minor accidents.

Developed by Bell Helicopter, this aircraft is manufactured by Bell Helicopter and Boeing Helicopters.

A US Navy investigation is underway.

Might want to research this a little better. It crashed soon after taking off "from its DESTINATION". NOT "from the ship".
