The airline has a fleet size of 67 aircraft and flies to 72 domestic and international destinations. The UTair Aviation fleet currently consists of ATRs, Boeing 737s, Boeing 757s, Boeing 767 and Bombardier aircraft.

UTair’s A321s will feature a single-class cabin plan with a seating capacity for 220 passengers. The new aircraft will service the airline’s popular leisure destinations.

Andrey Martirosov, UTair CEO, said,

Today’s signature of the contract on the delivery of new A321s demonstrates our firm intentions to continue to grow and strengthen our positions among leading Russian carriers. The chosen A321 aircraft fully meets the requirements of our fleet modernization programme, aimed at providing reliable operations, improving the level of service and developing the network.

Commenting on the order, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, John Leahy, said,

We are delighted to welcome UTair as a new Airbus customer in Russia and the latest for the A320 Family. This best-selling single-aisle aircraft offers not only superb technology but also unbeatable economics, which will contribute to the airline’s continued growth and fleet expansion. We look forward to a long-term partnership with UTair.

UTair was founded in 1967 and it operates a fleet of 200 aircraft that fly to 40 international and more than 60 domestic destinations.
