The Boeing 767 is a mid-size, twin-engine jet airliner that features two turbofan engines, a supercritical wing design, and a conventional tail. General Electric CF6 or Rolls-Royce RB211 turbofans usually power the aircraft.
Initially, the 767 served domestic and transcontinental routes. The aircraft was later approved for longer overseas flights, serving on non-stop, medium- and long-haul intercontinental routes.
Designed and developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the 767 is a popular airliner – to date, it has received more than one thousand orders from customers in about 70 countries. The 767 is Boeing’s first wide-body twinjet. It is also the first airliner with a two-crew glass cockpit.
Depending on variant, the 767 has a range of 3,850 to 6,385 nautical miles and a capacity of 181 to 375 persons. The Boeing 767 has been produced in three fuselage lengths that represented bigger sizes, namely, 767-200, 767-300, and 767-400ER. Longer variants of the twinjets include the 767-200ER and 767-300ER. There is also a cargo model, namely 767-300F.
