Just out of curiosity why is 737 change to 734, and 747 changed to 744. I use to think it was a typo, but I see it often enough I am wondering if there is a reason. _________________ Mr. McConnaughey

I believe that only 737-400 is change to 734. For instance 737-200 would become 732.

This is also because it is 747-400.

Its just a method of condensing 747-400 (for example), which is 6 digits and a hypen, into 744 - just 3 digits. You can do the same with Airbus - A346 / A345 etc. _________________ Click below to support FSF:

| Also in the case of the 737-700, where just typing 737 wouldnt be very informative, 73G is used to denote 737-700 |
