    Hi,

    Need some help please.

I've tried loading FS 2004 several times, but I keep getting the same error when the load reaches 44% with the 2nd CD.

I tried installing the personalised version with CD1, which got up to about 60% before the same error happened.

    Error: 9\sound\lessonsp5-26.wav.

I've cleaned the HD etc, but no change.

My OS is winxp and DirectX 9c is installed.

    Thanks for any advice.

    John

Try loading it in "Safe Mode".

You're not trying to load FS 2004, you're trying to install it.

I tried installing it in safe mode, but I got the same error.

Before the install started an error said that the sound card couldn't be found. I don't know if that would make any difference.

    Any more ideas?

Up date the drivers for the sound card, be sure the 4 disks are clean, no fingerprints or scratches.

When loading and quitting does it give you an option retry.
If so keep saying yes. Some burner drives have a difficult time loading software.

    Hi RadarMan,

Well, the audio system is integrated and the PC isn't 12 months old yet, so it's possible that the drivers don't have to be updated. That's assuming that the sound card isn't very old.
    The motherboard is: ASROCK K7S41GX

When loading and quiting it gives me the option to retry. I've clicked retry about 30 times, but nothing else happens.

    Thanks for your help

Here's the error. I'm in Spain, which means I've translated the error. I wasn't too sure about the word 'file'. It could have been archive.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2005 found an error in the disk when writing in the file C:\program file\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Sound\lessonsp5-26.wav. Make sure that the disk isn't full and restart the insallation program.

If you just bought the sim, bring it back and have them give you a new set.

I think that's the solution. After all, it's still under guarantee.

Thanks very much for your help.

I'll let you know what happens.

Do it, the store should replace it.
Be sure to clean out everything before you try to reinstall the new one.

    Use the demo of this.

    Guess what?

I've found out that the problem is with the game.
It's a common problem called GAME6, which is on
    the 2nd CD.
I'm going to take it back to the shop.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
